Adopt-a-Cove is an opportunity for interested individuals, families, groups, or businesses to participate in a community service project that enhances the natural beauty and recreational opportunities for all visitors to Shaver Lake.

Sign Installation

When you donate your time to improve and maintain a portion of the shoreline on Shaver Lake, everyone benefits through greater access, a cleaner environment, and improved safety.

Individuals or groups interested in adopting a section of shoreline at Shaver Lake, must be willing to perform at least 80 hours of service during a one year commitment (2 people x 40 hours = 80 hours, 10 people x 8 hours = 80 hours, etc.) Projects that you are likely to encounter during your year of adoption include: collection and removal of trash, removal of illegal campfire rings, and driftwood cleanup/pile for burning. With approval, you can tackle even more ambitious projects in your cove.

In appreciation of your efforts, your or your group’s name will be included on a sign listing all participants. This sign, erected to honor your dedication to public service, will be posted near the county boat ramp and your name will remain for as long as you maintain your Adopt-a-Cove commitment. The section of shoreline you adopt will also have a sign with your name on it.
